●INTRODUCTION:

1. In this modern world, everything is going to be digitalised. With the extensive use of internet, there is a massive challenge in protecting all our digital data, net banking informations, credentials, medical reportes etc. So, to tackle this type of problems we need ethical hackers. Ethical hacking or White Hat refers to a computer security expert, who specializes in penetration testing and in other testing methodologies that ensures the security of an organization's information system.

●WHY IS THIS NECESSARY?

I hope you remember the WANNACRY RANSOMWARE ATTACK on 12th of may,2017. Within a day, more than 230000 computers were infected across 150 countries. The wannacry worm encrypted the data and locked the users out of their system for description of the data. The users were asked for a ransom of $300-$600 in Bitcoin. The users who hasn't installed the latest security update were targeted in this attack. This is often referred as cyber attack. To prevent such attacks cyber security was implemented.

CYBER SECURITY can be defined as the practise of protecting network programs, computer systems from an unauthorized digital attacks. This illegal attacks are called Hacking.

THERE ARE THERE TOURS OF HACKERS:

●Black Hat: They Hack the complete system for monetary purpose and this is illegal.

●White Hat: They exploit the vulnerabilities in a system by hacking into it with  permission in order to defend the organizations from cyber attacks.

• ●Grey Hat: They exploit the vulnerabilities in a system by hacking into it without permission and report to the system's owner. Sometimes they ask money in return for the spotted vulnerabilities.

ETHICAL HACKERS works in 6 phases:

●RECONNAISSANCE: Hacker take       all the necessary information           about the organization system         that intends to attack.

●Scanning phase: Hacker spot the      vulnerabilities.

●Gaining Access: Once he spotted       the vulnerabilities, he then tries     to exploit them.

●Maintaining Access: He tries to          maintain access for future                attacks by installing backdoors        in the targeted system.

●Cleaning Tracks: He tries not to        leave any evidence for future          attacks.

●Reporting: He finally take a look        on the summary of the entire          attacks, the tools used, the                success rate of attacks and               many   other things.

SKILLS YOU NEED TO ACQUIRE TO BECOME A ETHICAL HACKER?

◆You must have a good knowledge of operating system like Windows, Linux, UNIX and Macintosh.

◆You must have a good knowledge of programming such as HTML, PHP, PYTHON, SQL and JavaScript.

◆Networking.

◆YOU should be aware of the security laws.

SCOPE:
